The Newport Winter Festival

For the past 20 years, Marketing and Events has organized the Newport Winter Festival. This is a 10 day festival that takes place every February during school vacation, and during a month that benefits greatly from a tourism boost. Marketing and Events coordinates over 150 events that draws over 25,000 people to the Newport area during the shoulder season. The Black Ships Festival

The month of July in Newport, Rhode Island is a breath taking experience of New England beauty, a perfect time for the Japan-America Society’s Black Ships Festival. This three-day extravaganza in the middle of July blends arts and crafts, taiko drumming, sumo wrestling, exotic food sampling, and the experience of the Japanese culture. Not only do all of these events require explicit attention to detail, but we also plan the Black Ships Gala, an enormous undertaking that has been the pinnacle of the three-day celebration.
