10am-4pm - International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum 194 Bellevue Ave.; A variety of activities for the whole family including scavenger hunts through the Museum, Wii Tennis, and QuickStart Tennis- a game designed to educate and excite youngsters about playing tennis. 10am-4pm - Scavenger Hunt - International Tennis Hall of Fame, 194 Bellevue Ave. Follow a map of the Newport Casino to answer questions about objects in our museum and on the grounds - a great family activity! 10am-4pm - Newport Mansion Tours The Breakers, 44 Ochre Pt. Ave., The Elms 367 Bellevue Ave., and Marble House are open for tours. 10am-4pm Save The Bay Exploration Center Aquarium 175 Memorial Blvd., Easton's Beach Rotunda. The Save The Bay Exploration Center is an interactive marine science-learning center that offers hands-on lessons and activities for families and children interested in learning more about Narragansett Bay and its inhabitants. Live exhibits include a 14 ft. touch tank, microscope station, arts and crafts area and beach walks. Get up close and personal with over 350 critters found in Narragansett Bay waters.. 12pm & 1pm - Seal Watches Join the Rose Island Lighthouse Foundation and Save The Bay aboard M/V Aletta Morris for a 1-hr. cruise around Rose Island to observe the seals that haul-out near her rocky shores. Boat is partially enclosed, but can be chilly so dress warmly! Binoculars and expert guides provided. Reservations strongly recommended. 12am-3pm - Drawing Contest International Tennis Hall of Fame, 194 Bellevue Ave. Choose your favorite object in our galleries and draw it. Sketch paper and pencils provided. Drawings will be hung in our USTA Wing for remaining days of the Winter Festival. Winners receive a Hall of Fame tee shirt. Ages 4-16. 12:30-4pm - The Economical Historic Home: Energy Efficiency Workshop for the Old House Owner 29 Touro Street How to care for your old house, protect Rhode Island's heritage, and help save the planet! Do you love your historic home, but hate the high heating bills and wasted energy? Learn how to make your old house more "green" saving money and energy without losing its historic character. Experts will present information and demonstrations on: insulation, weatherizing the building envelope, window repair and restoration, retrofitting for efficient heating systems, tax credits and funding, and more. Bring kids too, we will also be providing fund hands-on educational activities during the workshop (elsewhere on-site). Suitable for children ages 6-12. This workshop is a joint project of Newport Restoration Foundation, Preserve Rhode Island, Historic New England, and Providence Revolving Fund.
