4pm: Pillow Fight!

8:30pm: Winter Festival Comedy Show with Paul D’Angelo and Mike Donovan presented by the Newport Comedy Series & Newport Winter Festival

 
Hotel Viking, One Bellevue Ave.  Presenting two hilarious headliners in one night! Comedian Paul D’Angelo was featured in Showtime’s Godfathers of Comedy. After being named “Boston’s best comedian” by Boston Magazine and a finalist in several national contests his talents are evident. He combines his charismatic stage presence and spontaneous improvisational talents to create a fantastic comedy performance.  Mike Donovan is a witty comedian who has amused audiences on both television and in print.  His written work has appeared in Sports Illustrated, The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, and Sports Collector’s Digest.  He has entertained viewers on Fox’s Best Damn Sports Show, Showtime, Sports Center, and NESN’s Comedy All-Stars. 11am-2:30pm: Ice Sculpting Demonstration presented by Bailey T’s

  
12 Long Wharf Mall. Ice sculptors wield their chisels, chain saws, blow dryers and power sanders as they create masterpieces. Don’t miss these spectacular works of ice!  11am-3:30pm: 19th Annual Samuel Adams Chili Cook-Off 

  
Newport Harbor Hotel

8:30pm:  Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band – Changes in Latitudes

12pm: Second Annual Absolut Bloody Mary Competition
@ The Deck. Join us as we team up with Absolut and The 26th Annual Newport Winter Festival to see who has what it takes to make the best Bloody. Cheer on your favorite mixologist as we will have a “People’s Choice” winner!  All participants must use Absolut Vodka or Absolut Flavors. Participants must provide enough ingredients to tantalize the taste buds of judges and consumers and each will be evaluated by judges and consumers based on Taste, Creativity, Presentation, Ease of Preparation and Team Spirit.  First, Second, and Third Place Prizes TBA.  6:30pm:  Comedy & Juggling with Bryson Lang

All ages welcome to this wonderful day of festivities:  Children’s Block Hunt, Sand Sculpture Contest and Polar Bear Plunge.

Featured Events Include:
     11am * Block Hunt * Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Newport, enjoy an old fashioned     block hunt with prizes.
  12pm * Polar Bear Plunge * High noon plunge! The daring are invited to join in a   swim in the frosty Atlantic Ocean with The Newport Polar Club.

Fun for all ages.  See who can build the most extraordinary structure.  There are 3 categories:  Adult, Family & Children.  Judging is at 1:00pm.  Great trophies sponsored by The Newport Winter Festival.  Call to pre-register your team 401.847.7666 or just show up.  Sand sculptures may begin anytime after 10am.  FREE.
