1pm: Concert by the Tufts University Third Day Gospel Choir 
Casino Theater, 9 Freebody Street. Spectacle of Toleration event presented by the Newport Historical Society & the Martin Luther King Center.  The Third Day Gospel Choir, the Gospel Ensemble Confirmation and the Director David Coleman will present concert of traditional and contemporary gospel music.  This spiritual, historically African-American music transcends differences and unites all people to share in the celebration of music and the victory of life over tribulation.  The choir will present a concert that highlights the history and journey of gospel music – with singing, clapping, and moving.  The choir will interact with the audience making it a great performance for those experiencing gospel music for the first time.  The Tufts University Third Day Gospel Choir is one of several ensembles that are part of the Tufts University Music Department. For the students and for the community, the ensemble is dynamic, educational, spiritually uplifting and barrier-breaking as it unites 225 people from different cultures and faith together in harmony.
